What is Shop Pay? Shop Pay is a secure, convenient, and time-saving payment option offered by Shopify, the platform our e-commerce site runs on.
How do I use Shop Pay for the first time? Once you’ve added items to your shopping cart and you are ready to check out, you will see the purple Shop Pay logo at the bottom of the page. If you click on the Shop Pay box, you will be taken to the next screen where you will enter your shipping, billing, and credit card information. You can save your information for future purchases by entering your mobile number and opting in. (If you have previously used Shop Pay on another store and are shopping from the same device, your information will already be populated.)
What happens if I use Shop Pay again in the future? Next time you go to check out, you’re taken to the order review page. When you click on Authorize Purchase, you receive a 6-digit code via text message. Enter the code on the checkout page and your order is processed.
What is Shop Pay Installments? When you choose to pay for your New Zealand’s Best order with Shop Pay, for purchases over $50, you will have the option to break up your purchase into 4 equal, interest-free payments. This allows you to purchase an item but not have to pay for it all at once.
In the Payment Method section, click on the drop down arrow. Then you will see two options: Pay Now, or Pay in 4 Installments.
Does using Shop Pay Installments affect my credit score? No. Unlike some installment payment options, with Shop Pay Installments, Shop Pay does not pass along additional charges, interest rates, or late fees to you, and your credit score is not affected.*
Are there different payment options with Shop Pay Installments? Yes. With the first option, you make your first payment of ¼ of the total purchase at the time of checkout. Then your credit or debit card will be charged for ¼ of the purchase price every two weeks after that until the total amount has been paid. With the second option, you make the first payment two weeks after purchase, and then you are automatically charged every two weeks after that until the total has been paid. You will receive an email reminder before each payment is charged to your card.
What if I make a return on a purchase made through Installments with Shop Pay?
If your refund amount is less than the amount remaining on your Shop Pay Installments balance, then you can expect one or both of the following:
- A smaller payment balance on the final payment
- Less future payments on the remaining loan balance
If your refund amount is more than the amount remaining on your Shop Pay Installments balance, then you can expect to receive the difference as a refund to your original debit card or credit card payment method within 3 to 10 business days.
