I often get asked why TECHNYFLEX is a superior treatment choice for canine arthritis. The answer is simple – most common oral joint supplements (even the ones carried by many veterinarians) generally contain a mixture of ingredients such as abalone and shark cartilage, along with Greenlipped Mussel (GLM). But, TECHNYFLEX contains only one ingredient – New Zealand Greenlipped Mussel. 

In my opinion, the only ingredient in these other supplements that actually helps animals with arthritis is Greenlipped Mussel, and so the quality of the pain relief and joint benefits provided by these other products is directly related to the quality and amount of the GLM they contain.

• Abalone is often added to supplements as a “geriatric boost” or “feel good” ingredient, but it has no proven benefits to joints or to animals suffering from the effects of arthritis.

The active ingredient in GLM is the Omega-3 Essential Fatty Acid (EFA) content, and that varies widely depending on the quality of the Greenlipped Mussels used in the product.   The concentration of EFA’s differs greatly from product to product, and that is why some GLM products seem to have minimal effect on arthritis symptoms, while others like TECHNYFLEX, which contains only the highest quality Greenlipped Mussels with no additives or fillers, works phenomenally well. Greenlipped Mussels also contain naturally occurring glucosamine, chondroitin, and even some hyaluronic acid, all of which are extremely beneficial for improving overall joint health.
